About Us

Grenville Combined School and Nursery is situated in the beautiful market town of Buckingham and takes children from 2  to 11 years old. There are currently 150 pupils on roll. Children are organised into single age year groups from Nursery through to Year 6.

Our day begins at 8.35am with lessons starting at 8.45am. We have a morning playtime and an hour for lunch at 12.15pm. We finish for  the day at 3.05pm.

The original school buildings were built in 1907 and, in those days, it was home to The Royal Latin School.  The wrought iron gates at the main entrance to our site, still bear witness to this fact: the letters 'RLS' are clearly visible.  In 1963 the RLS moved to bigger premises in Brookfield Lane and our school site then became home to Chandos County Middle School until it closed in August 1991.

Grenville Combined School opened in September 1991 and is maintained by Buckinghamshire Local Authority.  Peter Wain, the current Headteacher, joined Grenville in September 2011.
